We're part of Open House New York🙌! On Friday, the entire Bohemian National Hall – a New York City Landmark dating from 1896 – will be open for free whirlwind tours of this remarkable historic center of Czech and Slovak life in New York City. It's a rare opportunity to tour the entire Hall. 🟧12-8PM, no RSVP required, just drop in (but please be patient if there's a line🙏).

One man played a key role in our Hall recognition as a NYC Landmark in 1994 - preservation architect Jan Hird Pokorny (1914-2008).



One man played a key role in Bohemian National Hall recognition as a NYC Landmark in 1994 - Czech-American preservation architect Jan Hird Pokorny (1914-2008). 🙏 Born in Brno, raised in Prague, he emigrated in 1939. Settling in NYC, he founded his architectural firm specializing in historic preservation. Here pictured with his wife, Marise Pokorny.
