Sofia Quirno’s practice centers on drawing and painting, assembling fragments of domestic life — photos, paper, plants, cartoonish body parts — into images that resist fixed meaning. Contradictions stay visible rather than resolved; images interrupt themselves, shifting form, color, and scale mid-way. This logic sometimes extends into sculpture, where drawing and object become interchangeable. She lingers in that in-between on purpose — precarious, unresolved, and full of possibility.

Introducing a new silkscreen by Marta Minujín
Golosina Emocional by Praxis Prints

Based on Minujín’s Golosina Emocional, a labyrinthine structure of interconnected passages designed to disorient and delight, the silkscreen translates the work’s vibrant, playful patterns into the graphic medium.

Marta Minujín’s fluorescent colors and playful forms recall her iconic mattress sculptures of the 1960s, continuing her exploration of participation, movement, and joy.

In her blown glass sculptures, Macarena Rojas Osterling transforms the fleeting experience of water into form. As the artist describes, they “echo the sensation of being wrapped, pulled, and held within a dense, unstable medium.”

“The sculptures appear to freeze the ‘in between’; an instant that hovers between liquidity and solidity, control and release, holding and abandoning. Despite them being fixed forms, the way they capture the light and let it settle yet divert, brings to them an innate movement, one that is subtle, like a fading memory.”

— Jenn Ellis, In the Whitewater

In the Whitewater by Macarena Rojas Osterling is on view through September 4 at Praxis Art, New York.
