INTRODUCING:
Erin Hilgartner, Little Red Riding Hood/Lucinda, she/her/hers

What inspired you to get involved with Into the Woods?
I love this show and I’ve always wanted to be in a production of it! It’s so well crafted and has all the elements of a great musical - it’s moving, funny, and the score is incredible.

Why should people see Into the Woods?
I’ve seen several productions of Into the Woods and our production is nothing like any of them -- Anna has a very fresh directorial vision for the show. The team and cast are all such lovely, talented people and everyone has worked really hard on it!

What’s been your favorite part of working on Into the Woods?
Adam makes me laugh out loud literally every time he says a line as Cinderella’s father...even when I’m on stage.. gotta get that under control. This group of people is so much fun-- coming to rehearsal every day is such a joy.

Which character do you think would be your IRL best friend?
I would love to be friends with the mysterious man

Which magical item in the show are you?
Probably one of the beans

What’s your favorite childhood fairytale?
My parents only let me watch the more modern Disney princess movies with the strong female characters as a child, and to this day I have never gotten around to watching such classics as Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White. My fave growing up was Beauty and the Beast- i guess the beastiality/stockholm syndrome vibes didn’t strike my parents as problematic

When’s the last time you lost YOUR glass slipper ;) / anything you care about?
I once lost a favorite flip flop in the ocean but I found it washed up on the beach the next day- true magic!!

INTRODUCING: Anna Moskowitz, Director, she/her/hers

What inspired you to get involved with Into the Woods?

I love working with CMTS and was excited by the opportunity to tackle these seemingly well-known fairy tales

Why should people see Into the Woods?

It’s a gorgeous show that really has something for everyone, and I think our production has a unique take that may surprise you :)

What’s been your favorite part of working on Into the Woods?

Adam, Callum, Eloise, Elisabeth, Eliza, Emma, Erin, Gus, India, Jacob, Sarah, Tom....and spending time with everyone else working on this production!

Which character do you think would be your IRL best friend? Probably Little Red but circa 2010

Which magical item in the show are you? Spell that resurrects pets?

What’s your favorite childhood fairytale? Jack & the Beanstalk but only this specific British audiobook, I still get a chill remembering the suspense

When’s the last time you lost YOUR glass slipper ;) / anything you care about? I left my phone in a cab on the way back from seeing Joshua Henry in Carousel and honestly my emotional responses were similar.

What inspired you to get involved with Into the Woods? Well, Sondheim is the best. I figured this would be a nice way to end my Columbia theatre career on a high note—ha ha ha ho ho. And I love a good musical... particularly when it is produced by the Columbiah Universiteh Musikal TheatRE Societie.

Why should people see Into the Woods? Because it is the gateway Sondheim musical.

What’s been your favorite part of working on Into the Woods? I’m allowed to sing a B flat every day and no one looks at me twice. …But seriously this is one of the tightest cast-and-team combinations I’ve ever worked with here, and it is a privilege to come to rehearsal every day knowing that all of my castmates will make different choices than they made yesterday or Anna and Carina are going to choreograph some awesome, insightful movement piece that I would never have thought of myself… stay tuned.

Which character do you think would be your IRL best friend? Rapunzel, because she is me and me is she, and I love spending time with myself because we like all of the same activities.

Which magical item in the show are you? Mmmm… I am the golden harp? Or maybe all of the sweets Little Red eats even though they are more gluttonous than magical.

What’s your favorite childhood fairytale? I am not really familiar with any Disney movies because I forced my parents to play Disney's Peter Pan on VHS for me every single day as a child.

When’s the last time you lost YOUR glass slipper ;) / anything you care about? Sometime last year I lost this green shirt that I loved that has holes all over it. But like I paid for the holes to be there. I’m still waiting to find it in the crack between the wall and the washing machine in my house in approximately 2.67 years because I’ve discovered a lot of my other favorite lost clothing items that way.

What inspired you to get involved with Into the Woods?

Some of my earliest childhood memories are watching the DVD recording of the original Broadway cast and listening to the CD on almost every car ride with my dad! Into the Woods pretty much saturated my childhood, but as I’ve grown older, I’ve come to realize what a heartwarming, funny, and sincerely moving show it is.

Why should people see Into the Woods?

To laugh, to cry, to sing, to wish, to hope, to dream, to have an amazing time!

What’s been your favorite part of working on Into the Woods?

In addition to working with an unbelievably talented cast and crew, I’ve loved delving into the power of Stephen Sondheim’s music and lyrics, and finding new layers every day in James Lapine’s brilliant script.

Which character do you think would be your IRL best friend?

Jack would make an awesome friend—he’s loyal, kind, dedicated, and a dreamer at heart. Plus, being friends with an animal lover means I get to play with all of his adorable pets.

Which magical item in the show are you?

Definitely the very, very white cow.

What’s your favorite childhood fairytale?

Hansel and Gretel, although I still think Into the Woods has a better witch…

When’s the last time you lost YOUR glass slipper ;) / anything you care about?

The only thing I’d be losing is if I wasn’t in this incredible production!
