Come watch David Bell in “How Dare You!” By Kendra Augustin!

David Bell is a first-generation Caribbean-American based out of Brooklyn, NY. Since moving here in 2015, Bell has been on a pursuit to learn his craft in every aspect possible. He has studied improv comedy at UCB, completing all of the classes as well as studying at The Pit. During that time, Bell began studying acting in a Meisner-based studio called: Maggie Flanigan Studios. At this conservatory, Bell was trained in the basic principles of acting and given an assortment of tools to work professionally. Since finishing in the summer of 2018 he has been working in student films as well as continuing to creating content of his own with the media group, DeadA$$. Tv and on his own. He has gone on to star in Off-Broadway plays, Shorts as well as continuing writing and directing his own works.

Come watch Hakeem Humphries in “Raising Junior” by Cris Eli Blak!

Hakeem Humphries has been acting on stage since the age of 4. He has done multiple productions in that time. Working with Tai'jabou Productions in Detroit, MI., Hakeem has performed in "Endless Love" and "Faceless Angels". Hakeem has also performed in various productions of "The Wiz"; playing the role of "Lion". Hakeem moved to New York in 2022 after a brief hiatus from the Detroit stage because of COVID. He hopes to bring his talent to New York and help spread the love of theater.

Come watch D’Asia Brunson in “Black Magic For Reals” by Monique C. Aldred!

D’Asia Brunson is a graduate(‘18) from Kean University's BA Theatre program. The dynamic nature of this study fostered passion in technical and performance roles. Some roles include : Rosalind in As You Like It, (Dir. Tommy Demenkoff at the Stella Adler Studio), Luby in Kiss the Bride (Dir. Wes Grantom), and Angel in Marisol (Kean Mainstage). This intersection solidified her belief that : theatre creates humanity in others . D’Asia has plans of designing a theatre company that is a vehicle for social change in communities like the Bronx that represent culture, history and people of the African Diaspora.

G Mama lee is an Actress, Comedienne, writer, Producer, director she has performed on The Apollo big stage, The Triad theater, NY comedy club, Eastville comedy club, Bric TV, Manhattan Access TV. She is the creative Director of Asili Productions, a multi-media company. She has three short films The Meet, The Magic Banana, My Book. She is also Theater Director of the stage play “Hook Up, Cover up” which was also was the writer. She has done Countless podcasts. She performed in several stage plays and done comedy all over the country.

Vivette is thrilled to be working with Affirmation Theatre again for the Pro Black One Acts Festival, where she will be reprising her role as Acacia in Black Magic For Reals. Other theater credits include “What Do They Want?,” and The Hamlet Experience. She is a New Jersey native who has had a longstanding passion for theater and film, and currently studies at the New Jersey School of Dramatic Arts.

Brandon M. Weber is a theatre and film artist who is dedicated to making works that break down the stereotypes within the ethnic diaspora. Being a New Orleans native-inspired him to be multifaceted in the arts and helped him obtain a BFA in Musical Theatre at The University of the Arts. His other gifts, such as screenwriting, photography, videography, directing, producing, etc., enable him to create pathways for POC artists to ask stimulating questions embedded within their culture.

Come watch Caleb Grandoit in “Raising Junior” by Cris Eli Blak!

Caleb Grandoit is a Caribbean American actor, writer, director, and dancer from Brooklyn. He made his tv debut as Ronald Toussiant in a Netflix original Grand Army written by Katie Cappiello. His acting career however began on stage. He originated the role of Marcus in Now That Men We’re Men written by Katie Cappiello (Steppenwolf Theater). Caleb has performed in past Opening Act play readings as Donnie in Exit Strategy and performed an original poem (both dir. By Kenny Leon at New World Stages). He's also a part of an improv group called Friends of the Family (People's Improv Theatre). As a writer, Caleb’s poem MisUnderstood is featured in “Now That We’re Men: A Play and True Life Accounts of Boys, S*x, & Power”, published by Dottir Press. His writing credits also included editing original student plays Intersections and Security Strike (dir. By Kamilah Forbes) at Opening Act’s Annual Play Reading (New World Stages). He released his first short film Only Seen As Three, in January 2020. The film was written, directed, edited, and produced by him. He received his Bachelors of Arts majoring in African and African Diaspora from The City University of New York College of Staten Island, 2020.

She has been cast in multiple stage plays and has starred as one of the leading roles in the award winning film Salina P. Tyquanda is also starring in the Films Sin Apple. Not only does Tyquanda continue to impart her passion for the arts into the youth, she serves as a Dance coach/choreographer for an Independent school in New York City and continues to pursue her dream of creativity and expression.

After graduating from Law school, she decided to leave her hometown in France to pursue acting in New York City. Julia is a recent graduate of the Two Year Conservatory at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts. She also trained with the Cours Florent Paris, and Jack Waltzer. She
