These are estimates. When I work with an actor one-on-one, I can get much more specific…

But how often YOU should post on social media as an actor - that depends on YOUR goals.

Are you…

āļø ACTOR A: You want a strong online presence.

You want to stay visible and make a great first impression when someone looks you up, but you don’t really care about growing your audience.

šŸ‘‰ You can post once a week or even a few times a month.

āļø ACTOR B: You want to build industry relationships.

Your time is better spent engaging than constantly posting. Post when you have something to share, but spend more of your social media time commenting, engaging and supporting people in your industry.

āļø ACTOR C: You want to grow your audience.

You’re not trying to become a ā€œcontent creator.ā€ You just want more people discovering you and your work.

šŸ‘‰ Aim for 3–5x a week, with more Reels, shareable posts and content your audience can see themselves in.

āļø ACTOR D: You’re using social media as your virtual stage.

You’re creating sketches, singing, performing, sharing characters or making other entertainment-focused content, AND you want that content to grow an audience.

šŸ‘‰ Don’t get hung up on posting a certain number of times a week. Consistency + quality content matter more than hitting a quota. Whether that’s once a week or three times a week, create a schedule that gives you enough time to make the content GOOD.

You don’t need to post every day to use social media effectively for your acting career.

Your posting schedule should support YOUR goals AND be something you can actually sustain.

So, which actor are you? A, B, C or D? Or maybe you’re a combo. šŸ‘€

I thought this would be a fun way for actors to connect (and let’s be honest...we all love seeing great headshots šŸ˜‰).

I already seen photo comments lead to some really creative conversations…

šŸ“š An actor recommended their favorite acting book and their followers added a photo of the one they’re currently reading.

šŸŽ Someone posted a photo from a convention and attendees added their favorite memory from the event.

šŸŽŸļø A theater actor shared the Playbill from the show they just loved and others add the productions they’ve seen.

Now let’s give it a try...

šŸ‘‡ Add your favorite headshot to the comments and take a look at the actors joining the conversation.
