Rosario and the Gypsies Theater for the New City presents ROSARIO AND THE GYPSIES, written and directed by Eduardo Machado with Music by Rick Vartorella, from Feb 18 - March 8.

It’s 1982 in San Diego, and the charismatic Rosario and her eclectic group of hippie street performers have begun to lose their audience. While they grapple with artistic power struggles and lovers’ quarrels, they must also come to terms with the bigger question of whether or not their politics and idealism have lost touch with the times. Rocking out to an acoustic band and songs that are a combination of street pop and 60's-70's rock, Rosario and the Gypsies is a celebration of anger, rebellion, truth, and the power of art.
