Meet the powerhouse cast of 'Clifford Odets' Waiting For Lefty' - the first production of CSC's 2026-27 season.

Directed by Steven Pasquale with original music and arrangements by Yeller Tooth, this innovative production uses music and movement to breathe fresh life into Clifford Odets' 1935 masterpiece, transforming the theater into a high-stakes union hall. Both then and now, speaking truth to power can come at a deadly cost. Don't miss this visceral collision of classic social protest and contemporary sound.

JUST ANNOUNCED: An exciting add-on to CSC's 2026-27 season, direct from its acclaimed, sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Penelope waited twenty years for Odysseus to return from the Trojan War. Now she's ready to share her side of the story… but she's going to need a drink first. Starring Broadway's Grace McLean, this contemporary chamber musical brings one of history's greatest epics to life through a Richard Rodgers Award-winning folk-pop score. Sharp, funny, and unexpectedly moving — this is Penelope's Odyssey.

Tickets on sale next week! Visit the link in our bio to learn more! 🍸✨

Step into the Lower East Side of New York in 1910, a time when America worried it was being overwhelmed by a fIood of immigrants. 'Rags', in a revised version of the 1986 Broadway musical, follows the struggles and triumphs of Jewish immigrants striving for the American Dream. After fIeeing Russian pogroms, Rebecca and her young son arrive at Ellis Island, entering a world of sweatshops, pushcarts, and the birth of both the American labor movement and American popular song. Featuring music by Charles Strouse ('Annie'), lyrics by Stephen Schwartz ('Wicked'), original book by Joseph Stein ('Fiddler on the Roof'), and a revised book by David Thompson ('The Scottsboro Boys'), this legendary musical hasn’t been seen in New York in decades. Now, fresh off the heels of the sold-out, acclaimed revival of 'The Baker’s Wife', CSC reunites with Schwartz and Stein to bring this soaring epic back to the NY stage for one night only! Directed by Leigh Silverman.

Notably, after originating the role of Bella in the Broadway premiere – and just before originating Cosette in 'Les Miserables' — Judy Kuhn returns to Rags as Rachel in this CSC concert presentation. She will be joined by Steven Skybell, Nicholas Barasch, Jenna Lea Rosen & more to be announced very soon! 🇺🇸✨

CSC's 2026-27 kicks off with 'Clifford Odets' Waiting For Lefty'. October 15 - November 22.

One room. One choice. One movement. Exploited, exhausted, and pushed to the edge, the taxi drivers of Depression-era New York City gather to make a choice that will change their lives forever. But as they wait for their leader, the tension reaches a fever pitch. Marking the directing debut of acclaimed actor Steven Pasquale, this innovative production uses music and movement to breathe fresh life into Clifford Odets’ 1935 masterpiece, transforming the theater into a high-stakes union hall. Both then and now, speaking truth to power can come at a deadly cost. Don’t miss this visceral collision of classic social protest and contemporary sound. The clock is ticking – are you with us? ✨

That’s a wrap on Camp CSC! 🎭✨

Last week, our summer classical theater intensive took things to a whole new level. Our students jumped headfirst into physical storytelling - mastering mask work, sharpening their stage combat skills, and bringing classic texts to life with serious passion.

A massive thank you to the incredible guest artists who brought their magic, wisdom, and energy to our stage, including the visionary crew of Soft Brain Theater Company, CSC alum Grantham Coleman, and all CSC's brilliant Teaching Artists!

Thank you for inspiring the next generation of performers. The future of classical theater is looking dangerously bright! 🗡️👑

We are deeply saddened by the passing of the extraordinary Wai Ching Ho.

We had the honor of welcoming Wai Ching to the CSC family in our 2022 production of 'Snow in Midsummer'. Her decades-long career broke barriers and paved the way for generations of AAPI artists. Her legacy of artistry, mentorship, and advocacy will continue to inspire the theater community and beyond for years to come. Our hearts and deepest condolences go out to her family, loved ones, and the entire community grieving this immense loss.

Rest in peace, Wai Ching. Thank you for sharing your light with us. ✨
