Like all wishes in life, it started like a spark, eventually turned into Dances As Fire.

This is the second year in a row, we took an early spring trip to Italy, to seek knowledge from masters there.

Livorno’s port stirred with the quiet hum of morning, while we navigate the winding roads of Tuscany region trying to get to the infamous Studio. Traffic circles packed the route, each roundabout a small negotiation between locals and visitors still learning the "floor craft". The salt-laden wind from the Tyrrhenian Sea rushed through the car windows, assisted by a hesitant spring sun. Little did we know, we won't be seeing it until our last day in Italy.

A huge shout-out to Edita Gozzoli and Valerio Colontoni. Your fiery energy, knowledge, and encouragement set the tone for the rest of our trip.

By the time practice was finally wrapped, rain had replaced the sun. Yet not all were lost as Pisa was only 30 minutes away. The Leaning Tower bathed in the soft glow of street lamps. Its silhouette is like a Standard lady's setup, blurred by the mist reflected in the puddles scattered throughout the Piazza dei Miracoli. Daytime noises replaced by a quiet whisper allowed us to be lost in time.

When we reached the competition site, Lake Maggiore decided to lay cloaked in fog for the duration of our stay. The surrounding mountains were half hidden behind the canvas of the lake's still water.

But we could care less as we got a dream team of coaches at our disposal. Fabio, Monica, and Sarah, your wisdom, patience, and fervent drive fueled our every step and each spin. We couldn't have burned this bright in the competition otherwise.

I am so proud of my student Patricia for setting the floor ablaze during the open gold showcase.

To Massimo and Alessia, the Masterminds behind this sizzling event. Your flawless organization, passion, and attention to details made Dances As Fire 2025 an unforgettable experience for all of us. The dance community is lucky to have you!
As we bid farewell to Stresa, as if the heavens had finally relented, the sun broke through and granted us a leisurely afternoon in Milan.

Thank you for the dance-filled weekend at the 2024 Cleveland Dancesport Challenge! We've been a bit quiet lately, which makes sharing our dance journey with you all the more exciting.

A heartfelt thanks to Nichy Vegas for hosting such a beautifully run event and taking great care of us. Special appreciation goes to Patricia Schneider from The Winning Look for the fantastic hair and makeup, as well as the enthusiastic support!

Congratulations to Patricia on your incredible sweep - winning all single dances, the Championship, and the Scholarship. What an achievement!

We're grateful for everyone who made this first stop on our 2024 journey so memorable. Here's to more dancing ahead!

To the students of dance, in leaps and in turns,
May your hearts be light, as the Yuletide burns.
As we bid farewell to 2023's dance floor,
Get ready to pirouette into 2024, and more!

In the studio where rhythms and beats entwine,
Wishing you joy that's truly divine.
With friends and family, in each festive sway,
Celebrate the season in your own unique way.

May your passion for dance forever ignite,
As you twirl through challenges, bold and bright.
In the rhythm of life, may you find the groove,
Dancing through moments, as you smoothly move.

When I return, in mid-January's glow,
We'll resume our dances, to and fro.
The beats of the music, the warmth in the hall,
In the upcoming year, let's dance through it all.

So here's to the holidays, a magical chance,
To dance, to celebrate, to joyfully dance.
Wishing you twirls of happiness, each and every one,
Happy holidays, dear dancers, until the next dance is spun!

Everything seems to change in this world at cosmic speed. It makes us appreciate moments of normality even more - to be able to travel, to go sightseeing, to compete, and to have fun. This trip to Blackpool started as a wish with the pandemic, the turmoil everywhere and in the dance world. To be able to dance to live music by the Empress Orchestra and to be part of the finals lineup is indeed a dream come true. We would like to congratulate our student Patricia, who became Blackpool Dance Festival Pro-Am finalist in open category. To say that we are happy does not even come close to describing our joy!!! All the frustration, the sweat, the blisters, etc. are all worth it. Well done and keep going! , , , , , ,

We just got back from our trip to Orlando, FL attending the 50th National Championship. What a great event it was! This year it was combined with Amateur Nationals. It was such a pleasure to see ballroom dancing flourishing among kids and young adults. We are happy for our student Patricia, who became Open B National Ballroom Finalist. This was her first time participating at USDC. Thank you and congratulations Wayne Eng for putting out such great event!!! See you soon! , , , , , ,
