Moxie Arts NY is a theatre production company dedicated to engaging audiences with stories centering women, created by artists of historically excluded genders*. Our programming provides funding and opportunities for artists at all stages of career development, including dramaturgical support, resources for staged readings, and professional management for the development of new work - from the page to the stage, and everywhere in between. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Introducing the cast of The Companion! First up: the incredible Rosie Moss as Joy!

Rosie Moss recently wrote, directed, and produced two short films: Mrs. Miller and MOM IRL. As an actor, she originated the role of Ela in The Last Boy at NYC’s Town Hall. Other theater credits include FUGU (WCJT), Macbethx5 (The Odyssey), and The Holylanders (Israeli Artists Project). TV credits: ABC's The Conners, Freeform's Famous in Love, and Lifetime’s The Rookie. Joy, a lonely late 30-something, acquires a Companion (an AI in a human form designed to help with daily tasks) for her ailing father. After his death, the Companion becomes hers. Choosing to keep him, Joy begins to fall for her Companion. Joy is romanced by his perfection, ignoring the advances of a human blind date, Brian. A devastating loss opens her up to the opportunity for a true human connection.

The production is directed by Kalina Ko, produced by Katie Brown, and stars Rosie Moss Elliot Sagay and Justin Borak!
