Last call to apply for our 2027 cycle of New Voices! Apply by 11:59PM this Wednesday, September 30 to be considered for our next artist cohort.

New Voices is Print Center New York’s annual open call program that provides opportunities for a small, curator-selected cohort of U.S.–based emerging artists. Artists present their work and develop their practices through a group exhibition, artist-led public programming, focused conversation and community-building, and individualized resources for artistic and professional development.

This year’s cycle will be led by Heather Hughes, Kathy and Ted Fernberger Associate Curator of Prints at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The curatorial framework is Renewal.

Selected artists will receive/participate in:
– A Group Exhibition (anticipated June–August, 2027)
– An Artist Cohort Intensive (anticipated early June, 2027, dates TBA)
– Leading a Public Program of their design
– Artistic and Professional Development

Don’t miss this chance to share your voice with the thriving printmaking community of New York City and beyond!

There are less than two weeks left to apply for our 2027 cycle of New Voices, and this years’ curatorial framework is RENEWAL.

Printmakers have renewed their work since the beginning of the practice, whether modifying matrices from first proof to final edition, reinterpreting the same motifs with the advent of new technologies, or incorporating discarded materials into fresh compositions.

Renewal asks emerging artists working in print: rather than starting over, where do we go from here, and what can be made from what we already have? How can a return to the past help us navigate the present, or develop solutions for the future?

Applications are FREE and close September 30. Don’t wait, this is your chance to share your creative voice with the thriving printmaking scene of New York City and beyond!

Visit the LINK IN OUR BIO to apply. For more information, visit the New Voices 2027 page on our website.

Join us for two special pop-up presentations by Mira Dayal () and Caroline Ongpin (.ongpin) coming September 17 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm!

In our East Gallery, Caroline Ongpin will be presenting “Passage,” a selection of new works made during her 2025 Marabeth Cohen-Tyler Print/Paper Fellowship at Dieu Donné (). Ongpin uses watermark, blowout, and stencil techniques to explore the subtle possibilities of translucency and color using specifically developed fiber combinations, in relation to her exploration into landscape and waterway imagery.

In our Leslie and Johanna Garfield Lobby, Mira Dayal will be presenting “Nets,” a collection of recent works made during her residencies and workshops at Ox-Bow (), Lower East Side Printshop (), and Dieu Donné. Dayal’s new work adapts her plasma-cut steel “net” sculptures as printmaking plates. These works further the possibilities of printing without ink and explore the dimensional properties and allusive potential of unlikely materials. Dayal’s work evinces the poetic latency of industrial materials.

Be the first to see our fall exhibitions and connect with the Print Center community!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a day of community-oriented closing programs celebrating the last day of the exhibition New Voices: Design.

Melih Meriç () held a Turkish Coffee and Pattern Carving workshop and Michael Menchaca screened “The Adventures of Prince Achmed” to cap off their fantastic participation in this showcase of printmaking work. We couldn’t have asked for a better way to close out this exhibition celebrating the new voices shaping printmaking.

This weekend is your last chance to experience New Voices: Design at Print Center New York!

New Voices: Design examines the historical legacy and contemporary application of pattern across a wide range of printmaking practices. It is curated by Andrew Raftery, Professor of Printmaking at Rhode Island School of Design, who was invited to lead this year’s New Voices selection process. These artists are united by their shared engagement with the history of pattern and its reverberations in the present through design, printmaking, and culture.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see some truly outstanding works in print.
