The 2026–27 CUNY Dance Initiative Artists Are Here!
We’re excited to welcome three artists to BMCC Tribeca PAC through the CUNY Dance Initiative (CDI), which supports NYC-based dance artists by providing dedicated space and opportunities to create and develop new work.

Danielle Diniz / Signature Steps
Dr. Chloé Roberts
barkha dance co. is a touring Kathak artist, choreographer, educator, and Artistic Director of Barkha Dance Company. Her work has been presented at venues including Jacob’s Pillow Inside/Out, Little Island, 92Y, and Chelsea Factory. She is the recipient of the 2024 Princess Grace Dance Award and is developing her new evening-length work, icchā / desire, through her 2026 CUNY Dance Initiative residency.
Danielle Diniz / Signature Steps returns to BMCC Tribeca PAC after her 2023 CDI residency. Danielle is a choreographer and educator whose work has been commissioned by and presented at organizations including Jacob’s Pillow, St. Louis Ballet, the Ailey BFA Program, Stars of American Ballet, and many others. She continues to create work across dance, theater, and performance.
Dr. Chloé Roberts is a choreographer and scholar whose interdisciplinary practice examines how bodies are shaped by cultural expectations and institutional systems through performance. A 2021 Franco-American Fulbright Scholar and recipient of the Dance Lab New York Production Prep Fellowship, Chloé recently premiered her evening-length work PEOPLE at Arts on Site in NYC.
