Huge congratulations to our friends at Young People’s Chorus of New York City on the release of their extraordinary new album.

Created during the height of the pandemic, more than 600 Young People’s Chorus of New York City choristers recorded their individual parts from bedrooms, kitchens and living rooms across the city. What began as a way to stay connected through music has become a powerful celebration of resilience, creativity and community.

Featuring works by acclaimed composers including David Lang, Michael Gordon, Paola Prestini, Paquito D’Rivera, Gordon Getty, Yuka Honda, Samuel Adler and Michael Harrison, this album is a testament to the incredible things young people can achieve when they sing together.

On June 3rd, 7,000 students from the tri-state area experienced the power of music on a massive scale, joined by Broadway stars and rock stars. But most importantly, these thousands of children were the real stars. Said Young Voices CEO, Ben Lewis:
"It's not necessarily about making them into musicians - what we're doing here is molding good human beings.”

On June 3, nearly 1,000 Newark students performed a WICKED Medley at Prudential Center.

What a special experience this year once again with ! Approximately 7,000 children sang with the choir at the Prudential Center and had a visit from Elphaba on Broadway played by Oluchi Nwaokorie ! The kids also cheered on Okieriete Onaodowan , who played Hercules Mulligan in the original Hamilton on Broadway.

On June 3rd, American Young Voices' NY Metro concert is taking a trip... with the help of a very wicked guest!

Welcome to the Land of Oz, where there is a young woman, born with emerald green skin — smart, fiery, misunderstood and possessing an extraordinary talent. When she meets a bubbly blonde who is exceptionally popular, their initial rivalry turns into the unlikeliest of friendships…until the world decides to call one “good,” and the other one “wicked.”

With a thrilling score that includes the hits “Defying Gravity,” “Popular” and “For Good,” WICKED is “A magical Broadway musical with brains, heart and courage.” (Time Magazine)

After joining Broadway's Wicked cast in March 2026, Oluchi Nwaokorie boasts an impressive resume and will continue to make a footprint of her own, joining the Young Voices choir for a special Wicked medley on the stage of the Prudential Center!

David Lewis OBE
1940 – 2026
We are deeply saddened to announce the death of David Lewis OBE, founder of Young Voices, on 11th May 2026. He was 85.

David founded Young Voices with a simple belief: that the greatest gift was “putting a love of music in a child’s heart” and that the best way to do that was by providing them with a mind-blowing musical experience.

From a single concert in Dublin in 1996, that idea grew into the largest school choir programme in the world, with over 3 million children having participated in a Young Voices concert.

We will miss him. Our thoughts are with his family, his friends, and all those who knew and loved him.
