The Pulitzer Prize-winning A Strange Loop, which went into the night with a leading 11 nominations, took home two biggest musical awards, those two prizes were for best musical and best book of a musical.

With the former award, the last one presented in a four-hour celebration of the best of Broadway from the 2021-22 season, A Strange Loop’s star-studded producers — including RuPaul Charles, Alan Cu***ng, Ilana Glazer, Jennifer Hudson, Mindy Kaling and Billy Porter — also won. With the Tony, Jennifer Hudson has achieved EGOT status.

Production Company

Marc Blakeman founded Blakeman Entertainment, LLC in 2015 to foster his love of musical theatre and the performing arts. Since then he has invested in some of the most critically-acclaimed shows on Broadway and London’s West End, including the six-time Tony award winning Dear Evan Hansen.

A resident of San Francisco’s East Bay, Blakeman spends his days as Vice President of External Affairs for AT&T and serves on a number of civic boards including Meals on Wheels of San Francisco, Genesys Works Bay Area, San Francisco Citizens Initiative for Technology and Innovation, and Equality California.

Marc is a native of downstate Illinois and a graduate of Northwestern University where he received his B.A. in political science. He also holds a certificate in corporate community relations from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management. https://www.blakemanentertainment.com
