SimonSays Entertainment, founded in 2009 by Ron Simons, is a Film & Theatre production company whose mission is to "Tell Every Story" with a particular focus on narratives that dig deeply into the outsider's struggle for dignity and acceptance and how that journey unfolds in the ever-changing American Tapestry. The film’s debut film project "Night Catches Us", premiered in dramatic competition at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival and was screened as part of the 2010 New Directors / New Films Festival by the Museum of Modern Art and the Film Society at Lincoln Center. in December 2010 through Magnolia Pictures and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for Best First Feature. The company’s second feature, "Gun Hill Road", stars Esai Morales and Judy Reyes. "Gun Hill Road" was a 2011 Sundance Grand Jury nominee. Recent projects include the Tony-winning longest running Broadway production of "Porgy & Bess" starring Audra MacDonald as well as the all black Broadway production of "A Street Car Named Desire" starring Blair Underwood. SimonSays Entertainment currently has two films at 2012 Sundance: "Mother of George" in the Dramatic competition & "Blue Caprice" in the NEXT category for Innovative Storytelling.
