AlpenKammerMusik is a festival where artists strive to find, define, expand and refine their unique voices through the collaborative study of chamber music. The spectacular setting of the Austrian Alps serves as the backdrop for a festival where you will rehearse and perform together with professional musicians from around the world. AlpenKammerMusik has incorporated and we are in the process of a

Due to low enrollment, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the Clarinet Institute at AlpenKammerMusik for this year. While the dedicated institute — featuring masterclasses, coachings, repertoire classes, and a staff pianist — will not take place as part of the 2026 festival, we remain excited to welcome clarinetists to AlpenKammerMusik through our regular chamber music program.

Clarinet applications (as well as strings & piano) are still being accepted for the full festival experience, and we have extended the deadline to Friday, February 20.

We warmly encourage everyone to apply and join us for an inspiring week of chamber music. Apply now!

AlpenKammerMusik is excited to be offering our Fellowship Program for the second year!

Open to pre-professional or young professional musicians, AKM Fellows will have an experience that is both artistically and professionally meaningful. They will act as assistant faculty to festival instructors from top universities and conservatories from around the globe, including Royal Academy of Music and Eastman School of Music; artists from major ensembles like the Dalí Quartet and Ruysdael Quartet; and heads of management agencies like Concert Artists Guild.

Under the careful guidance of AKM’s staff, Fellows will also act as “shadow” administrators, learning the nuts and bolts of how to operate a music festival that caters to young artists, professionals, and especially talented amateurs.

In addition, they will get the chance to work at the highest level of musicianship in faculty concerts. Pictured here is Ciara McGuire () one of our inaugural Fellows from the 2025 festival, performing the Amy Beach Piano Quintet alongside our esteemed faculty artists.

The Fellows program will offer a FULL SCHOLARSHIP and cover room and board.

Don't forget that this year, AlpenKammerMusik will feature a robust Clarinet Institute alongside the regular chamber music program. The institute is taught by internationally renown pedagogue Chad Burrow, Professor of Clarinet from the University of Michigan! Participation in the Clarinet Institute will include daily masterclasses, rehearsals, coachings, technique class, orchestral repertoire study, and chamber music. Thanks to the generous $5,000 grant from , AlpenKammerMusik is delighted to share some good news: tuition for the 2026 festival will remain at 2025 levels. Two-week tuition will stay at €1,700 and one-week tuition at €1,200—so there will be no increase this year. Our heartfelt thanks to the Associated Chamber Music Players for their wonderful support!

Applications are still open to chamber music lovers of all stripes, from college-level musicians in training to lifelong dedicated amateurs. Come spend one or two unforgettable weeks making music in one of the most breathtaking places on earth.
