A divine Sarod performance by Pt. Tejendra Narayan Majumdar, accompanied by Shri Nitin Mitta on the Tabla. We are more than thankful to have been a part of this wonderful concert. We truly look forward to hosting you again! A big thank you to EGSC - Engineering Graduate Student Council, Columbia University, GSA, SAI and Hindu YUVA at Columbia University for your support and sponsorships. Join us for an evening of Hindustani Classical Music with your friends and family this March 23rd 2018, 5 pm at 501 NWC (North West Corner) Building at Columbia University. Invitation is open and FREE to Columbia students, faculty, staff and alumni and is subject to RSVP. Please collect your Eventbrite tickets here. Admission will require an eventbrite ticket so make sure you purchase a ticket prior to the event.

Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt is a renowned instrumentalist and is one of the luminaries in the field of Hindustani Classical Music. Creator of the MOHAN VEENA and the winner of the GRAMMY AWARD, Vishwa Mohan has mesmerized the world with his pristine pure, delicate yet fiery music. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt has attracted international attention by his successful indianisation of the western Hawaiian guitar with his perfect assimilation of sitar, sarod & veena techniques. He has achieved world wide fame and has received prestigious awards like the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, 1998 and has been conferred with Padma Bhushan - the third highest civilian honor of India.

Shri Nitin Mitta is one of the most sought after tabla players in the music world and has quickly established a reputation as an artist with a rare combination of technical virtuosity, spontaneity, clarity of tone, and sensitivity to melodic nuance. He has performed with India’s several celebrated classical musicians such as Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Ustad Shahid Parvez, Ustad Nishat Khan and many more.
