The Institute of Fine Arts community deeply mourns the passing of Professor Clemente Marconi, James R. McCredie Professor of Greek Art and Archaeology and Director of the Excavations at Selinunte.

Professor Marconi was a leading scholar in his field whose visionary research and dedicated mentorship transformed classical archaeology. Beyond his extraordinary academic achievements, he was a cherished friend and colleague whose warmth and enthusiasm uplifted our entire community.

We hold his family, loved ones, and the entire Selinunte community in our hearts during this devastating time. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy endures in the generations of scholars he inspired.
