Heidi Latsky Dance

Heidi Latsky Dance HEIDI LATSKY DANCE (HLD) is a cutting edge, provocative dance company currently creating works that are visual representations of diversity and inclusion.

Current work: ON DISPLAY is a deconstructed art exhibit/fashion show—a commentary on the body as spectacle and society's obsession with body image. Members of the disability, performance, and fashion worlds are often stared at and objectified in their daily lives. ON DISPLAY addresses our propensity to judge people according to what they look like.

“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret. It is only with the heart that one can see rightly: what is essential is invisible to the eye.”

Last month the company celebrated the US premiere of TRACKING PARALLEL at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Our three-day WHO AM I NOW? residency in this extraordinary contemporary art museum also included an installation of ON DISPLAY with community members in one of the galleries, as well as a screening of Heidi’s most recent documentary LIVING IN THE GREY, followed by a conversation moderated by HLD alumna Catey Ott Thompson. We dipped our toes in Lake Michigan, repeat-visited one of the best coffee shops ever (shout-out to Paradigm Coffee and Music!), celebrated Nico’s birthday backstage, and topped it off with some fried cheese curds.

We are so excited to share the news of an upcoming festival as part of the ARTS IN SIGHT Series: Something Hidden, co-curated by Heidi Latsky and Arts On Site, Thursday June 4 and Friday June 5 at 7:00pm, at Arts on Site in New York’s East Village.

Stay tuned for an exciting update coming soon! 👀

Next week we travel to the John Michael Kohler Arts Center for a three-day residency titled “WHO AM I NOW?” April 21-23, 2026 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin

On April 21 from 4-5pm, we will open the residency with an installation of ON DISPLAY, our human sculpture court

On April 21 from 5:30-7pm, the center will present a screening of LIVING IN THE GREY, Heidi’s most recent 35-minute documentary film, which follows five company artists as they navigate control and power in their lives, offering insight into their experiences with non-apparent neurological conditions. Longtime HLD collaborator Catey Ott Thompson, artistic director of the Catey Ott Dance Collective, will moderate the post-screening discussion.

On April 23 at 7:30pm, join us to celebrate the US premiere of our multimedia dance performance, TRACKING PARALLEL. Featuring a new film and a soundscore both created by Heidi, this work explores the ways in which individuals and communities navigate personal and collective shifts, set within a surreal and immersive environment. A post-performance conversation will follow
