1. 🌟 The world famous Studio 54 only operated for a surprising 33 months.
2. 🌟Donna Summer’s 1977 hit, "I Feel Love," was the first major all-electronic disco hit, laying the groundwork for modern electronic dance music.
3. 🌟 Chic's iconic track "Le Freak" was written by Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards after they were denied entry to the legendary Studio 54 on New Year's Eve 1977!
4. 🌟 1977's Saturday Night Fever was soundtracked by the Bee Gees and launched disco from underground clubs into mainstream global pop culture.
5. 🌟 The mirrored disco ball was actually patented in 1917 - more than 50 years before disco's peak.
6. 🌟 Disco opened its arms to marginalised groups like the gay community & people of colour to celebrate who they are, long before it was widely acceptable.
7. 🌟 In 1953, 24-year-old Regine Zylberberg, manager of Paris' famous Whisky a Go-Go, took a chance and replaced the club's jukebox with two turntables and a microphone.
8. 🌟 Popular genres like House music would never had existed without disco.
9. 🌟 The word "disco" comes from "discotheque," The French term combined the words disque, a phonograph record & thèque, a type of collection to describe a nightclub where people danced to recorded music.
