The D-Lew Podcast Derrick Todd Lewis is an actor, recording artist and songwriter.

Both of his parents were in the entertainment industry. His mother Valerie (Scott) Lewis was the lead singer for Rhythm and Blues group "The Pretenders" in the late 1960s and his father, the late Billy Lewis was a member of "The Drifters" from 1975 until the late 1980s. Derrick grew up in Newark, New Jersey and has 6 siblings. Derrick's interest in acting began at the age of 4 when he saw the film

"Mommie Dearest" starring Faye Dunaway. He performed in his first school play at 6 years old in "Snow White" as one of the seven dwarfs "Bashful". From there Derrick would always be a part of school plays during his elementary school years. In 1991, Derrick joined the Spirit of Newark Drum and Bugle Corps as a charter member until 1997 and returned as a conductor in 2000. He then joined The Bushwackers Drum and Bugle Corps in 1998 as a snare drummer and was there until 2006. He performed for the New Jersey Nets Drumline in 2004. Derrick also taught many percussion programs in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania including Rapidfire Indoor Percussion. Since starting his acting career in 2010, Derrick has appeared in productions such as "Creed", "Man On A Ledge", "Where Hearts Lie, and "CStreet". He has studied under Sara Mornell, Tracey Moore, Constance Tillotson, Amanda Lynch and the late Dustin Felder. Derrick added recording artist and songwriter to his resume in 2016 when he released his debut single "Selfish Pride" that was co-produced by Stefan Mossele and Aswad Samad.

Back on February 1, 2023, I taped my episode of Wheel of Fortune for WWE week. After the tapings were over, I got to chop it up with The New Day. Even me being in the biz for almost 8 years, I always pay respect to the ones who paved the way. I know wherever Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods go they will make that locker room better. New Day Rocks!!!

14 years ago today a movie that I was in came out in theatres “Man On A Ledge” starring Sam Worthington. I spent 4 weekends in NYC back in the fall of 2010 filming it. This was my first time seen on the silver screen. So grateful to have experienced that.
