Another B, — Beer, brings us back across the pond for some stadium rock. The quintet, which premiered in 2023, was largely inspired by Queen’s unforgettable 1985 Live Aid performance at London’s Wembley Stadium.

B — Bloody Mary takes the raucous reign of England’s (historically dreadful) queen to great heights (literally, the piece is performed en pointe.) With mercurial movement, a strikingly structured tutu, and clamorous music, Mary I exudes power and transports viewers to merry old England.

Today, we’ll begin with A — Absinthe, a French Fantasy inspired by a Paris Opera star’s storied past. The slightly spooky solo can open two ensemble numbers in the Twist repertoire: White Russian and Eau de Vie.
