June is Audiobook Month, and we’ve got a challenge for you! Get someone in your life to listen to an audiobook.

Maybe they’ve never tried one before, or maybe it’s just been a while. Maybe they’re still insisting they “don’t have time to read,” which sounds like a perfect opportunity to introduce them to the magic of listening while doing literally anything else.

Some audiobook listeners are busy. Some are auditory learners. Some are multitaskers, and some just know that the right narrator can make all the difference.

Psychologist Dr. Patricia Dixon recently broke down why certain people tend to gravitate toward audiobooks, and much of it comes down to flexibility, focus, and the way we process information. For listeners with ADHD, learning differences, packed schedules, or brains that just connect better through sound, audiobooks can make reading feel more accessible and more natural.

This week in audiobook news: audiobooks continue to flourish.

Spotify shared that Audiobooks+ has reached 1 million subscribers and is on track for $100 million in annualized recurring revenue. At the same time, Audible has officially launched in the Netherlands with local subscriptions, Dutch-language content, and locally produced originals.
