I had the pleasure of visiting the show of at with recently, and I just adore every single piece in here.

I would literally take it all home if I could… There is nothing I admire more then an artist who makes me feel… I want to gather all my fem friends and have a tea party inside of this exhibition.

I find find her piece to be sweet, sensual, colorful, playful and full of curiosity.
I hope I have the opportunity to work with her one day.

I had the opportunity this week to see the exhibition of Ceija Stojka - Making Visible - at in NYC. It really moved me. It’s super powerful.

Her visual stories of living in a concentration camp are beyond haunting - and knowing this show was actually curated years ago - I feel that this exhibition couldn’t be more timely or relevant for all the things we are currently facing.

I was closely examining one of the pieces where she had painted literal piles of bodies - one of the people who helped to make this show happen approached and told me “she was encouraged to hide or play in the piles of bodies to “stay safe”. I’ll never forget that.

Ceija’s exhibition is a lot to take in, but it’s worth it. It’s also important, I find, to remember that art has a voice, and many times that voice is one of sorrow, pain, rage or just absolute truth. I hope people will continue to tell the stories of their truths in the most authentic and uncensored ways possible…. For as long as we possibly can.
