DRAMA: ANDRÉS BEDOYA OPENS AT COLECCIÓN BALANZ’S SALA NAZARÉ, BUENOS AIRES THIS SATURDAY ✨ CURATED BY JULIANA FONTALVA
25 SEPTEMBER 2026 - 16 JANUARY 2027
“Drama does not begin when conflict appears; it begins when we discover that conflict inhabits the most intimate forms of our existence: the body, language, the home, clothing, the objects we inherit.” — John Berger
Drama begins with an inquiry into memory, inheritance, and the ways in which personal experiences persist in objects and materials.
Andrés Bedoya was born in La Paz in 1978. His career has unfolded between Bolivia, the United States and, more recently, Mexico City. He studied design at the University of Texas at Austin and, for several years, lived and worked in New York, where he exhibited his work and worked as a cultural manager. However, the core of his practice lies not in these geographies of circulation, but in a deeply rooted material autobiography anchored in the Andean region and in his personal history, which has been the silent driving force behind his work for nearly two decades.
Open to the public from September 25, 12 pm–6 pm.
Guided tours: Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 4 pm.
