MaiYap’s installation titled ‘The Gathering’ a tribute to Maiyap’s mother and to all for whom cooking is an act of love, transcends its physical form, becoming a celebration of cultural fusion and the power of shared meals. MaiYap painted 520 white porcelain spoons with Chinese motifs and words adorning the spoons are in three languages: Spanish, English, and Chinese, reflecting Maiyap’s identity as a daughter, mother, and wife, seamlessly navigating through the cultures of many places.

Maiyap’s installation, ‘The Gathering’ is presented as part of the group show titled ‘Healing Goddesses Il’ at the Doral Cultural Arts Center, Florida. Open until March 30, 2024. In honor of International Women’s Day month, the in collaboration with & presents exhibition by 40 women artists. Organised by the founding director of The Bright Foundation
