Golden Drum

Golden Drum Golden Drum is a volunteer-run organization that is part of the 501(c) nonprofit MAISC.

Its cultural center is based in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, where it offers cultural events, classes, and gatherings celebrating wisdom and practices from around the world. Golden Drum is the educational program of the non-profit M.A.I.S.C, and is dedicated to serving the community by focusing on sharing Amerikua Wisdom (Amerikua is a Mayan word meaning “Land of the Winds” - the original name given by the original people of the continent we now call America), and supports all native traditions of the world. The program offers classes, workshops, musical performances and events with the purpose of bridging cultures, sharing knowledge, promoting peace and bringing people back to nature.

The Fall Equinox marks a point of equilibrium between light and darkness, and the beginning of the gradual movement inward that characterizes the season ahead.

A plant revered by the indigenous people of the Americas, cacao has received widespread recognition through its usage as the key ingredient in chocolate. For the Mayan people, cacao is utilized as a rebirthing medicine, helping people get rid of negativity, release emotional suffering, and experience universal love.

In the Wixárika tradition, healing and cleansing ceremonies are done for the soul and the spirit. Using prayer tools such as candles, feathers, sacred words, incense and the elements, “limpias” (cleanings) are performed with the help of the ancestors to bless a person’s life and path.

Healing is a collaboration between the participant, the healer, spirits and ancestors who are called upon to assist in the ceremony. Therefore, each participant should come with clear intentions and be prepared to express their feelings and needs.

My experience as a facilitator in the Dream Seed Sound Healer Training program for the past 3 years.

I’m AJ Block, founder of Didge Project and one of the facilitators of the Dream Seed Sound Healer Training Program. In this video, I share a little about what we’ve created with this training and what participants can expect from the 2026–2027 program.

This is a 120-hour immersive training designed for people who want to deepen their relationship with sound and learn how to incorporate it into healing sessions, meditation, ceremony and personal practice.

Over the course of the program, we explore the principles of sound, deep listening, voice, rhythm, overtones and harmonics, sound healing instruments from around the world, energetic practices, developing intuition, creating sound baths, and working with sound both individually and in groups.

The training runs from October 2026 through April 2027 and can be taken in person in New York or remotely online. Our in-person program also includes two immersive weekend intensives in upstate New York.

Whether you’re already working with sound or are just beginning to explore this path, the program is designed to meet people at different levels of musical and sound healing experience.

Unveiling the Temple Body with the Sacred Roses by Ananda Aidê (Brazil)

Join Ananda for a two-hour experiential workshop exploring the body as a space for awareness, transformation, and deeper connection with ourselves.

Drawing from her many years of spiritual study and body-centered practices, Ananda will introduce the concept of the Temple Body—an invitation to experience the body not simply as something we inhabit, but as a source of wisdom, presence, and inner guidance.

The workshop will begin with a brief introduction to Ananda’s journey and the foundations of her work, followed by a guided body-awareness practice inspired by Core Energetics Body Therapy. Through conscious movement, breath, sound, tension and release, participants will be invited to notice where the body holds patterns of stress, protection, and emotional tension, while creating more space for presence, vitality, and authentic expression.

From this more grounded and embodied state, Ananda will guide participants into the Sacred Roses practice, a symbolic and energetic activation connected to the Pentagram of Venus. The roses represent qualities of beauty, harmony, love, creativity, and the integration of our receptive and active energies.

Rather than approaching these ideas only intellectually, the workshop invites participants to experience them through the body—to listen inwardly, reconnect with their own inner wisdom, and explore what may be ready to soften, shift, or emerge.

The experience will weave together movement, conscious breathing, sound, embodied awareness, guided energetic practice, and moments of integration.

No previous experience is necessary. The workshop is open to everyone who feels curious to explore a deeper relationship with the body, awareness, and their own inner world.

In this 2-hour workshop, I will share knowledge about the Sacred Lineage of Umbanda (an Afro-Brazilian religion), where we will learn more deeply about who the Orixás are and how they work through the elements of Nature.

How to connect with these Orixás (elementals of Nature)

I will also introduce Afro-Brazilian rhythms that invoke the elements of Nature, where each rhythm features a dance, an element, and an invocation of different ancestral forces.

Participants are also welcome to bring their own percussion instruments so we can create rhythms that activate our chakras, thereby awakening our Kundalini.

Yara Yaworâ

Therapist, musician, singer-songwriter, and daughter of a Pai de Santo (born and raised within the Sacred Umbanda tradition, an Afro-Brazilian religion), an Ogã for over 20 years (an Ogã is a drummer within the Umbanda religion), a practitioner of the Santo Daime Doctrine, a facilitator of Shamanic Experiences with Forest Medicines after more than 20 years of study—including many direct experiences in the forest with various indigenous ethnic groups—and an apprentice of the Mysteries of Life.

Yara has dedicated her life to spirituality since birth, having traveled many paths—through Umbanda, Umbandaime, Santo Daime, and Shamanism—and today she integrates all of these into Universalist energy, uniting the East with the West. She travels throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe conducting ceremonies with forest medicines and facilitating workshops on Drum Medicine (OORUN—The Path of the Sun).
