Keigwin + Company begins its residency at ArtYard this week in preparation for Stage Door which will premiere at both ArtYard (Sept 25) and Works & Process at Guggenheim New York (Sept 27). For tickets and more info to both performances: https://gu.gg/4A4C4AK

Stage Door is KEIGWIN + COMPANY’s (K+C) community-enhanced show inspired by the artist’s life on the other side of the stage door, brought to life by Larry Keigwin, Nicole Wolcott, K+C dancers, and more than 25 Frenchtown community members. Artistic Director Keigwin and Co-Choreographer Wolcott expand upon their acclaimed duet Places Please (2017) as they explore the universal themes of acceptance, aging, and finding your place in the world through the lens of the audition.

The two performances are the culmination of Keigwin & Company’s residency at ArtYard, a partnership between ArtYard and Works & Process.

Check out this recap of yesterday's performance featuring LayeRhythm as part of our Works & Process at Manhattan West Gather Round: Let's Dance series!

Founder and house dance specialist Mai Lê Grooves brings together artists historically under-recognized in the traditional performing arts landscape. Rooted in the raw energy and creative brilliance of freestyle movements like house dance, litefeet, flexN, breaking, and locking, LayeRhythm creates street/club music and dance experiences built on live improvisation, where the audience's energy and ideas shape what happens on the floor in real time, dissolving the boundaries between spectators and artists.
