Alfonso Tan

Alfonso Tan Rising, Seattle-based, dance music DJ & producer with a passion and attitude that rattles dance floors. House. Tech house. Disco. Occasionally techno.

Let's vibe together! Extended Bio:
Alfonso's passion for music can be traced back to recording his favorite tracks off the radio and trading mix CD's with his friends. He's always been intrigued by both the artistic and technical aspects of DJ'ing, and finally dove into this world at the end of 2018. House music is his foundation and main love, and he finds enjoyment in many forms of electronic da

nce music. Striking a solid vibe with his listeners is what makes him happiest. He grew up on '90's era underground hip hop, R&B, electronica, indie rock, video games, sportscars, snowboarding, and Pacific Northwest culture; the positive influence on his sound is apparent. With Alfonso, the sound has to bounce, groove, connect with the crowd, and have the right attitude. He's covered a lot of ground in his relatively short journey as a DJ: playing for many of Seattle's more prominent outfits (LOST, Nark Magazine, Field Trip, Uniting Souls, Studio 4/4, etc.) at the city's hottest venues (Monkey Loft, Q Nightclub, Kremwerk, Re-Bar, etc.), as well as venturing out to rock parties in Vancouver, Boston, San Diego, and Palm Springs. Whether it be an intimate basement, underground rave, sprawling club, or sunny, rooftop deck, Alfonso can hit the proper groove. Alfonso Tan currently holds a residency with the infamous LOST Family, rocking monthly 2nd-Saturday shows with them at Monkey Loft, and a residency with The Cuff, frequently tearing up their dance floor during the rest of the month. He also recently played Beyond Wonderland 2021 at the Gorge for Insomniac, Desertopia for Palm Springs Pride, and will close out the year with an NYE Celebration on his home turf at the Cuff. Alfonso has also begun producing music - playing with techy, bangin', make-you-dance, club sounds. He has been thoroughly enjoying the evolution in this realm thus far, and plans to keep releasing music while taking opportunities to rock dance floors in a post-lockdown era. Music has always been an important force in Alfonso's life, and he aims to channel its power through his DJ'ing and productions.

NYC, thank you once again for showing me so much love 🗽❤️!! It was a total blast to rock a 6 hour set to a great crowd at - y’all were gettin’ loose!! Slide 1 demonstrates how my latest track, “Work Ya Body,” was received 😎 Big thanks to the Eagle’s team and everyone that came through for a great night 🙏

I stuck around for the weekend, and was really glad to catch some rad friends and check out some new spots 🤘 The trip started off in a bittersweet way because my BF had to bail at the last minute on what was supposed to double-up as a birthday getaway for him, but everything worked out in the end. I can’t wait to be back in July (back at the Eagle on 7/18 🦅)!

May is on the horizon, and it’s gonna be a fairly chill month, DJ-wise, which I’m totally fine with as summer is gonna be *busy*. Despite its chill level, it’s still starting off with an absolute bang 💥!! This Friday, I’ll be kicking off the month on my beloved home turf, 🤘 The weekend forecast is looking sooo good, so come enjoy it with me!!

A little late with this, but I wanted to share some slides from last weekend, which was a f’ing blast 💥

On Friday, I got to meet, hear, and close out for one of my absolute faves, , on the first stop of a VERY long-awaited US tour. A great crowd came through, everyone threw it down so hard, and I was stoked to hear some DON’T BLINK songs that I love, as well as some upcoming heat 🔥 Also, in slide 1, I’m playing out a self-made tech house bootleg of Tinashe’s “Nasty” that I probably play out too much, but I’m still getting good mileage out of it 😎 Thanks to .music for having me, and to everyone that came through and stayed up late!!

Then on Sunday, I had the utmost honor of headlining the legendary ⛪️ It was a bit of a surprise thing, so it was really cool that quite a few people rallied for it and came out to dance and swing the lamp 🙏 It was sooo great do dig into my collection of deep, classic, and jackin’ house as it’s not something that I get to do often. Thank you to everyone who attended the sermon!!

And one week later: I’m here in NYC enjoying an absolutely lovely spring day before I throw down a 6 hour set for tonight 😈 Who’s feelin’ feral? Slide through!!

This Friday, I am beyond stoked to be closing out ’s Seattle stop on their *first ever* US tour 🤯 I first heard them around 2020, have become a huge fan of their music and their label (Low Ceiling) since then, and became an even bigger fan after learning that Oskar/Styline is a software developer that created and runs Songstats, a highly valuable app for music producers of any genre. As someone who pivoted into UX design from mechanical engineering and am doing a bit of a ‘dual passion chase,’ it was really cool to learn about this. I’ve been hoping that they would visit the US for years, so it’s super rad that they aren’t just stopping in Seattle, but I’m part of the show alongside some 🔥 Seattle talent!!

There’s also a really cool story about how this all came about — this video gets cut a bit short, but in it, I’m playing DON’T BLINK’s track, “CRUEL GROOVE” at a wild event (: RITUAL at in San Francisco). I was playing it A LOT (they are generally regulars in my sets 😎) when it came out, and during a small pop-up-style party in Seattle, heard it, really got into DON’T BLINK, and ended up signing a track to their label!! 😱 Now, .music is bringing them to one of Seattle’s most-beloved clubs () this Friday, and I get to close the night out after them with a 3AM set. It’s gonna be suuuch a hot one - see you there? stay up late? 😈

🇵🇭 Truthfully, I couldn’t ever really get into halo-halo. There’s just too much going on with it, lol. Still, though, as the shirt says, I like my ICE crushed 🧊🔨 S/O to for making it 💯

It’s hard not to get discouraged and feel powerless, and some people I spoke to prior to yesterday’s event were even eye-rolling about it, but personally, it really helps to see a diverse range of people showing up to say they don’t f*** with what is happening right now. Let’s stick together and keep pushing back 💪

📸 Much needed press shot refresh — big thanks to my buds and for letting me use their home studio and all the help with getting the lighting dialed, etc. 🙏 With how important branding is to the music/DJ hustle, having some decent photos is handy for A LOT. They get used in various ways and let people know you are serious/professional about what you are doing. I feel like people are reluctant to get them, though, because they probably assume that they need to be professionally done for a significant cost. While that scenario is certainly ideal, it’s not necessary. If money is tight (as it is for me), being resourceful and DIY’ing is a great alternative. These shots, and all others that are part of this update, were taken with my iPhone and touched up in Photoshop or with the iPhone’s edit function. If that’s all you can afford, it’ll work just fine 👍 Learn a little bit about basic photo composition and editing, and reach out to your creative friends for help (again, S/O to Zachery and David and their creative spirits). It makes for a fun evening! With how long-overdue this update was, I’m excited to begin using these photos across my artist profile 😃

🥳 “Work Ya Body” turned a month old over the weekend, so of course, I had to drop it at during their Heated Rivalry ‘Raging Hot Club Night’ 🏒 I’m so hyped on the response it gets across a variety of crowds; thanks for all the love, and give it a listen if you haven’t yet!! The night itself was a total blast to play with a really fun-loving crowd in attendance 🙌 Swipe for a few additional scenes:

• mixing out my tune “Get Dirty” and into “No Feedback” by Dan Kanvis, featured on the show’s soundtrack 🤘
• an edit/mash that my buddy made of “All the Things She Said,” also on the soundtrack 🥵

💥 Up next: in Portland at this Friday (9-2AM), and ‘W After Dark’ at on Saturday (8-11PM). 😎

Today marks 11 years with the ol’ ball-and-chain 😜❤️🥰 Really, though, it’s a trip to realize that 11 years have passed since a casual Scruff hookup became what we now have. After all this time, we love each more than ever, continue to share a ton of laughs, and continue to show up for each other in the ways that we both need to. We ‘get’ each other in ways that no one else can and we encourage each other to be our best selves. I feel extremely lucky to have what we do. I was getting my hair cut earlier this week and mentioned our anniversary to my barber; he made a comment about how you can’t be with someone for 11 years without going through some serious sh*t together, and we certainly have. We’ve been there for each other through some pretty gnarly health issues, career challenges, dark patches, and countless adventures so silly that they can’t be made up. In some ways, we’ve become a little boring, but truly, I love our weekday evenings together trying to trick each other into being who makes dinner while we watch the news and CSI re-runs. I truly love it when we’re together and I can’t imagine life any other way ❤️ Happy Anniversary, !! I love you sooo much and am so excited for more of our ongoing adventure 😘

⛄️ As a friend eloquently put this morning: “WTF is this sh*t?” Seriously, though, we had an awful snowboard season, a mild winter, and it finally snows in mid-March?! Fortunately, that also means it isn’t sticking around and definitely not slowing down a hot weekend. Come join in on some rad happenings!! ⬇️

💚 Friday - After not playing it in February, I’m back at for my monthly residency night, and I’ve got some new tunes to share that have been doin’ serious damage in my sets over the last month 🔥 I’m eager to get back to throwing down for such a great floor, and I’m super stoked to help y’all cut loose 🤘 It’ll be a proper way to unwind for the weekend!! Expect 4/4 dance music that spans the range: funk, soul, tech, grit, naughty, vocal, and more 🔊 disco, house, techno, and ???

🏒 Saturday - TBH, I’m still a little shocked at how popular Heated Rivalry has been outside of the LGTBQ+ community. is great at playing into these types of things, and they invited me to play a Heated Rivalry-themed ‘raging hot club night’ for them 🥵🥅 I really enjoyed the soundtrack, and I’ll be throwing down a bunch of it alongside dance tunes that evoke the show’s vibe. I’m excited to pull out some indie dance and synthwave for the earlier part, and lean into some sexy tech house bangers for the latter. Get ready for some ‘high-sticking’ 🏒!! Presales for this can be found in the usual spot 🎟️ PS - is my T-shirt in slide 1 a decent nod to Shane…? 😜

👋 Hope to see y’all, and I hope the weekend is a great one in general!

💿 It’s the one week anniversary of the release of “Work Ya Body” on , so I wanted to share some clips of the track getting played during my sets. I’m fortunate that I get these opportunities to test my tracks out, and I’m pretty stoked on the response this one has received! 😃 Now that it’s out there for the public to access and enjoy, I’m even more hyped on playing it out as it continues to keep the dance floor activated and energized. Thank you to everyone that has been groovin’ to it, and tune in to “Work Ya Body” if you haven’t yet!!

Whoops, I went through most of January without dropping an update to my show calendar 😅 In any case, I hope 2026 has been going well for y’all! We still have some chilly weather to get through, and I’m here to provide some heat for it 🥵 ——— A few plays on some familiar and fun territory, a return to my east coast ‘sidepiece’ city, a debut with a brand in PDX that I’ve had A LOT of fun with over the years, events that spotlight rad AAPI talent, and a long-awaited release of a track that has been doin’ the damn thing in my sets for a while. Will I see you out? Leverage coat check or rock your ‘throw-away’ hoodie and toss it in a random corner. You’ll need to as we inevitably catch a groove together!! 😎 See you out there!

New Year, New York 🗽 Hello, 2026! You had a truly special celebration, including some notable milestones in my musical adventure: the furthest-from-home NYE event that I’ve played, the longest set I’ve played (7.5 hrs), and at a spot that has been on my DJ bucket list for years. It was a total blast!! Y’all showed up early and kept it jumpin’ until the very end, and then some 🍾🙌🔊 Thank you so much for stepping into the new year with me, and tysm to the team for having me and being so great to work with, once again! 🦅 It really was an extra-special way to end 2025.

Given the significance of this set, my love and our dear friend tagged along, so we made a little trip out of it. Despite the extra chilly climate and bustle of the holiday season, the trip as a whole reaffirmed why NYC has such a special place my heart. It was so great to catch some awesome friends, explore more of the city, and generally get down 🕺 Thank you to everyone that was part of it!!

…catch you again at the end of February 😎 …and in the meantime, I’m coming into the first Saturday of 2026 at full speed: landing in Seattle, splashing some water on my face, and then heading to to rock a FREE event (with RSVP through their website before the evening starts). The timing of NYE has made today feel like Sunday in a way, so I’m stoked for this lil’ weekend bonus round of sorts. Catch you soon!! 🛬
