Gingold Theatrical Group Now entering our 20th year celebrating Art as Activism with GBS leading the way! Join our mailing list to keep abreast of our updates.

GINGOLD THEATRICAL GROUP, now in its 18th year, creates theatre and theatre-related programs that promote the humanitarian ideals central to the work of activist playwright George Bernard Shaw, including universal human rights, the freedom of thought and speech, the equality of all living beings, and the responsibility of individuals to promote societal progress. All of Gingold’s programming is in

spired by the opportunity to present and create art that embraces the fundamental elements of the joys of diversity, self-empowerment, and the chance to bring hope and clarity through art to a needful community. GTG presents the monthly PROJECT SHAW (featuring concert presentations of plays by Shaw and others who share Shaw's humanist and self-empowering precepts), the annual SHAW NEW YORK festival (full off-Broadway productions, symposiums, readings, lectures, concerts), the celebrating play reading series PROJECT SHAW, the SPEAKERS' CORNER new play workshop, discussion groups, lectures, partnerships with several New York City middle and high schools, and many more programs! Shaw’s plays seek to empower the individual with examples of powerful characters that challenge societal dictates, and to encourage everyone to make bold personal choices. Founded in ‘06, GTG brings together performers, students, academics, playwrights, journalists, and the general public with the opportunity to explore and perform plays by Shaw and his activist colleagues, and to create new work based on the values that Shaw championed. Through performances, symposiums, educational programs, new play commissions, and outreach, GTG encourages all people to rejoice in the inclusive and diverse possibilities of the future. www.gingoldgroup.org
