Spotlight: Bernardo Krasniansky
In his own words, Bernardo Krasniansky reflects on his experimental use of Xerox technology during the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Featured in ISLAA’s current Spotlight, Krasniansky transformed the photocopier from a tool of reproduction into a space for artistic experimentation. Working directly with photocopies, distortion, and repetition, he challenged conventional distinctions between original and copy, creating a body of work that remains remarkably inventive today.

Curator Series · Episode 01
Mariano López Seoane on Ulises Beisso: (Hidden) in Plain Sight

“Humble and ambitious.” These are some of the words Mariano López Seoane uses to describe the work of Ulises Beisso.

Watch the first episode of our new Curator Series, in which López Seoane discusses his curatorial approach to the exhibition and reflects on Beisso’s singular universe—shaped by desire, spirituality, vulnerability, and an expansive practice of world-building. Drawing on years of research, he situates Beisso’s work within broader artistic and cultural histories while highlighting the originality and enduring relevance of the artist’s vision.

Part of ISLAA’s Spring 2026 exhibition season, Ulises Beisso: (Hidden) in Plain Sight marks the artist’s first exhibition in the United States.

🪑 La silla grande (The Big Chair), 1994
A closer look at La silla grande (The Big Chair), one of the sculptural works featured in Ulises Beisso: (Hidden) in Plain Sight.

Blending furniture, sculpture, and fantasy, Beisso transformed everyday objects into vibrant portals to his imaginative universe. Geometric patterns, symbolic motifs, and handcrafted surfaces reveal an artist committed to reinvention, freedom, and wonder.

This exhibition continues the recent rediscovery of Beisso’s work following major presentations at El Subte, Montevideo 🇺🇾, and MALBA, Buenos Aires 🇦🇷, bringing his work to U.S. audiences for the first time.

Sundays with David
Lamelas at Frieze New York ✨

While we keep uncovering Lamelas’s archive, Dia Art Foundation presents his moving-image works at Frieze New York 2026 — coinciding with his first comprehensive survey in New York at Dia Chelsea.

Lamelas’s presentation at Frieze New York will centre on To Pour Milk into a Glass (1972), alongside works from his ongoing series Time as Activity (1969–). Shot on 16mm film in London, the piece engages with framing, language, and the circulation of information, using the simple act of pouring milk to consider a “container” and its “contents” — where meaning unfolds through duration and repetition.
