Peña’s control the safety of the annual Running of the Bulls and are responsible for much of the rowdy behavior. The municipal government, officially runs the festival, but due to the peñas’ ability to boost enthusiasm and create structure, the government supports their involvement. In a theatrical production, the Production Stage Manager takes on a similar role by keeping the cast and production team organized, motivated, and things running smoothly.
Alex Duncker, (Production Stage Manager) Hailing from beautiful Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Alex began her love affair with the performing arts at her local western dinner theatre. After progressing from showgirl to stage manager, she ventured east to pursue a theatre degree from the University of Vermont. Since moving to New York in 2016, Alex has spent much of her time with Aquila Theatre Company on their National Tours presenting classical and literary works through a modern lens to students and audiences all across the country. When she is home in New York, Alex enjoys dabbling in film, producing inventive new works such as Meshahnye, Late Night at the Serpent, Codependent, Cartography, Vo**ur, and a pop-up theatre (Destiny Manifests) in a repurposed storefront in Chelsea that presented Sam Shepard’s Fool for Love alongside original poetry, dance, live music, visual and performance art. Alex is proud to work on primarily women-led artistic endeavors.
