I’m so elated to join Brooklyn Art Song Society for their incredibly curated 22-23 season!
The Brooklyn Art Song Society is pleased to announce the details of Its 2022-2023 season. BASS’s thirteenth season features 9 monthly concerts to the First Unitarian Church in Brooklyn Heights, as well as The Dichter Project at the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music and outreach programs in partnership with Heights and Hills Senior Services. BASS is thrilled to continue its tradition of innovation and excellence, making Brooklyn, “one of the most exciting venues for song anywhere.” (Seen and Heard International).
The Season at a Glance:
-The World at War (October-March) explores the hope, despair, perseverance, rage, and humanity found in songs written at the world’s darkest hour.
-The third annual New Voices Festival: Worldliness celebrates the kaleidoscopic diversity of song in the 21st Century.
-The Dichter Project continues with earthy and iconic settings of Eichendorff by Schumann and Wolf.
-The 2022-2023 season features over 225 songs by 45 composers, including world premieres by Mikhail Johnson, Gilda Lyons, Huang Ruo, Carlos Simon, and Jorell Williams.
