The celebration continues! If you missed our announcement earlier this week, our Tú Cuentas Cafecito series with host Raymond A. Perez just brought home two Telly Awards.

🥈 Silver: Our conversation with Emmy-winning producer and broadcast executive Ingrid ‘Superstar’ Salcedo.

🥉 Bronze: Our feature with acclaimed Puerto Rican actress, producer, and Diario, Mujer y Café director Roselyn Sánchez.

This recognition is a direct reflection of HITN’s mission to lift up emerging filmmakers through our Tú Cuentas Cine Youth Festival. Huge thanks to our incredible guests, the Telly Awards, and the creators who keep trusting us with their voices.

It was just announced today that Tú Cuentas Cine Youth Fest earned two Telly Awards for our Tú Cuentas Cafecito series w/our host Raymond A. Perez:

The Silver Telly goes to our Cafecito with Ingrid ‘Superstar’ Salcedo, an Emmy-winning broadcast executive and powerhouse producer shaping the biggest Latin music award shows on TV.

Our Bronze Telly celebrates our Cafecito with Roselyn Sánchez, the beloved Puerto Rican actress and producer whose career spans hit series like Without a Trace and Devious Maids and fan-favorite films like Rush Hour 2. In her most recent chapter, she steps behind the camera as director of her deeply personal film Diario, Mujer y Café, bringing an intimate Puerto Rican story to the screen.

For the past five years, HITN’s goal with Tú Cuentas has been to create a platform where young filmmakers and storytellers can showcase their voices and their work. Seeing our Cafecito series recognized with these Telly Awards is a beautiful affirmation of that vision, and we are deeply grateful to the emerging filmmakers who trust us with their stories and to the Telly Awards for this honor.

In the spirit of International Dance Day, here is a carousel of Latino dance films that turn the floor into a storytelling space: “In the Heights,” “Shine,” “The Mambo Kings,” “Dance With Me,” “Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights,” “The Latin Dream,” and “Cuban Fury.” Together they highlight Latin communities, where music and movement carry history, identity, love, and resistance. Save this for your next movie night and tell us which film you’d add to a Latin dance watchlist.

We couldn’t be prouder to see our alumni taking over the screen. Congratulations, Cathryn—we’ll be watching what you do next!
