AMT Theater

AMT Theater You want to be in the World Series, the Super Bowl, you want to win an Academy Award, an Emmy, a TONY. And we want to do cabaret because, well, it's just fun.

🎭 Midtown Manhattan Off-Broadway theater - new plays & musicals, film, film festival, youth theater, cabaret, festivals, readings AMT THEATER, and AMT INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

AMT has basically two goals.

1) One is to move shows on to Broadway - not because Broadway is the absolute definitive mark of excellence in theater, but because if you're a professional, you want to be at the top. It gives you something to strive for and it pushes you to extraordinary lengths. So yes, we want to move a show onto Broadway, but we also want something perhaps even more significant.

2) We want to make a difference in people's lives. We want to do new shows, to encourage new writers and directors. We want to do children's shows, to get the young people involved at an early age. We want to work with other professionals outside of the country, like our spectacular successes with acclaimed director Mauricio Cedeno and the amazing artists of Guadalajara, Mexico. We want to serve as a regional theater to the people in our immediate area, to draw on their energy and solicit their opinions, because without our audience, we are nothing. AND...

3)
We expanded in 2024 with our Inaugural AMT International Film Festival which was open to all filmmakers and screenwriters. AMT believes in diversity and in new voices. We are so excited about our foray into the film festival world right from our vibrant Hell's Kitchen / Broadway / Times Square area! So please come with us on this magical carpet ride and let's see where it takes us. The AMT Theater Team

Al Tapper’s AFTER ALL THESE YEARS, directed by Brian Childers, is currently on stage through October 10 at AMT Theater.

AFTER ALL THESE YEARS is a hilarious, heartfelt, and deliciously unfiltered musical memoir of producer/songwriter Al Tapper packed with first loves, lost weekends, show-business dreams, political satire, romantic misadventures, and a few stories that probably should have stayed at the bar.

Part concert, part comedy, and part affectionate roast, the musical celebration runs the gamut from Stephen Sondheim to Joey Buttafuoco—with stops along the way for Doris Day, Vladimir Putin, teenage lust, middle-aged regret,
and the occasional dirty martini.

With Al appearing on screen and a live company bringing his songs to life, AFTER ALL THESE YEARS proves that one man’s memories can be funny, touching, outrageous, and just inappropriate enough to deserve their own musical.
