Following our performances, Bronx based community organizer, Sazia Patel () will facilitate a discussion between Khaotic and I to discuss our self-publishing and press publishing journeys respectively. We will discuss the benefits and challenges of each approach and offer advice for others thinking about publishing.

The event will take place on the first day of Ramadan inshallah and so we will also converse about our spirituality as artists and how each informs the other.

Come out to support your local artists and tap into this conversation 💫

🎤 We kick off the ‘Still’ book tour NEXT Thursday, March 16 7 PM. Open mic sign up begins @ 6:45 PM.

Our beautiful & wonderful MC and feature for the night are Jenn Cisneros and Jasmine Pierick, respectively. Read about them below - it’s about to be vibe 😎

~ Presale for ‘Still’ begins Monday, March 13 inshallah ~

💫 Jenn Cisneros was born and raised in Queens, New York. She is a woman of many ethnicities, mother to a young Queen, a mental health advocate, and a multifaceted artist. Her platform, Spoken Moon Open Mic (), was created with the intention of cultivating a space for all artistries to meld. Writing and sketching were always things that came naturally to her, but used only as a means of surviving. Through exploring spoken word and other art forms, she shares her healing journey with others in hopes that while digging into herself, she can also help them understand that they’re not alone.

💫 Jasmine Pierik was born to help folks connect to themselves and to each other. This has shown up in her work as a festival producer, facilitator, community builder, visual artist, and poet. She has a mean sense of direction and feels most alive at the ocean and in spaces like these. Currently she heads up the Art Program & Events at The Yard, a coworking space that resides at the intersection of work and play with a footprint in NY, Philly, and DC. The cornerstone of her work is intentionality - for every event, poem, piece, or celebration—she asks herself and those around her, why are we here and how do we want to feel when we part?
