According to the National Hurricane Center, this non-tropical area of low pressure is forecast to form near or offshore of the southeastern U.S. coast during the next couple of days. If the low remains offshore, it could gradually develop some subtropical or tropical characteristics later this week while moving northeastward, however, those odds are pretty low — 10% as of this morning.
This is a great reminder that we've officially entered the Atlantic Hurricane Season which runs until Nov. 30. So, take this time to restock your emergency supplies, review and update your family's evacuation plans, and secure any important documents in your home.
