The wind is cold, the sky draped in silver-gray haze.
This little bush stands almost bare, its branches swaying helplessly in the late-autumn breeze…
And then they appear — tiny bursts of pure yellow.
They land, they flutter, they sing.
In the middle of a world that feels wintry and washed-out,
they choose to light up an entire corner of the sky.
Sometimes life feels exactly like that bush:
stripped down, chilled to the bone, swaying under forces we can’t control.
But as long as there’s still a little warmth left inside,
we can be someone’s yellow bird —
a sudden flash of color and hope on a gray day.
Watching them dance in the wind this afternoon
somehow made my own heart feel a few degrees warmer. 💛
