Back in 2018, I went to COSM for the first time. I had no clue who Alex & Allison were, what this place was, or what I was in for, and I found the most wonderful community. I started volunteering for events and fell in love watching the fire spinners. I spun after hours with other staff and found my confidence with Poi. I left for my own 6-month journey and came back twice the spinner with a bigger, more open heart in 2019. It was then I was given a chance to spin during the events alongside all the performers who had inspired me to pursue this craft. They set my heart on fire and welcomed me with open arms.
How lucky am I that after three years of closed doors, I get to come back to this place i view as a second home as one of the coordinators that run our fire circle. I have created some of my best work in this space, for this space, and I feel so blessed to continue creating. Thanks to all the flowmies who came out; sharing the stage with you was such an honor. Cheers to howling at the moon next time.
