Sasha Kahn Fine Art Artwork by the artist Sasha Kahn I'M SASHA KAHN! My life is American, but my soul is Russian. I serve on the Madison Square Park Art Council in New York City.

Many of my pieces are inspired by my identity and experience as a Russian orphan and immigrant. They represent a deep dive into my duality and the impact of fate and unexpected detours. Much of my work, which is rendered in oil on canvas, focuses on the clash of my American experience and my Russian heritage. I am an oil painter, born in the Siberian village of Sludyanka, Russia in 1994. After spe

nding my first three years in a Russian orphanage, I immigrated to the United States to join my adoptive father. I received my BA degrees from the University of Denver in Art and Geography in 2017, and received a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Fine Art from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2018. I have exhibited at a juried show sponsored by the Viki Myhern Gallery, Denver Colorado, a group show sponsored by the former mayor of Baltimore, Maryland, “Of Wind and Sea, at the Baltimore City Hall, and currently have multiple works displayed in a hotel in Manhattan. I work mainly in oil and focus on color and symbolism to convey my story.
