Girls are the Future: Empower Them!

Girls are today’s unrecognised superheroes. Empowering adolescent girls is central to a sustainable future and breaking the cycle of poverty. It is critically important that leaders give them the support they deserve. We call on you commit to the recommendations of the Generation Equality Forum, to tackle the unfinished business needed to achieve gender equality and help every girl achieve her dreams.

Today, not a single country can claim to have achieved gender equality. Women and girls are disproportionately affected by climate change and poverty. One in three will experience sexual and physical violence, half are denied choices about their own bodies and health, and 132 million girls are currently out of school. On this current course, it will take another 136 years to close the global gender gap. These statistics are shocking, and they have only been accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Trinidad and Tobago is well known for its African and Indian cultures, reflected in its large and famous Carnival, Diwali, and Hosay celebrations, as well being the birthplace of steelpan, the limbo, and music styles such as calypso, soca, rapso, parang, chutney, and chutney soca.

The beauty and charm of Jamaican women is evident wherever in the world they go. Though many words can be used to describe them, delicate and frail will never suit them. These strong, independent women are also known to be equally warm and loving to the people in their lives.

When we begin to discuss Jamaica, the first thing that involves thoughts is, of course, Jamaican rum, it is a reason to never stop smiling. However the magnificent incredible, beauty that God has blessed the Jamaican woman sets the standard. Jamaica is a very distinctive island within the Caribbean. Simply think about sunny sand, blue ocean and delightful Jamaican meals subsequent to you on the seaside.

With a culture that stresses eating “good food”, you can expect healthy eating to be an important part of the Jamaican woman’s life. Being the ultimate party animal, the Jamaican woman has the ability to liven up any party and bring the vibes to fever pitch in no time.
