Next week, our popular New Baltic Cinema series returns to + Scandinavia House with the best recent films from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania! 🎬 We're starting this season's lineup with gripping psychological thrillers, noir, and crime dramas, with screenings and film talks taking place on select weekday evenings at 7 PM. Get tickets using the links in the comments ⤵️

Our offerings kick off with the electrifying q***r noir The Activist on March 3, which has already generated buzz around the Lithuanian cinema scene. Director Romas Zabarauskas will be present for a film talk and Q&A following the screening.

Then, on March 5, see Red Code Blue, director Oskars Rupenheits’s masterfully produced crime drama that accurately rewinds time to the Baltic region’s unsafe, frenzied, and uncertain 1990s. A Q&A with producer Sintija Andersone, cinematographer Juris Pīlēns, and location manager Amanda Rēvalde will follow the screening.

And on March 11, our week of Baltic dramas wraps up with Lioness, Estonian director Liina Triškina-Vanhatalo’s "affecting, spiky melodrama” (Lou Thomas, BFI) exploring strength, family, and the courage (or madness) it takes to protect those we love.

Can't get enough of Baltic cinema, or can't make it to our in-person screenings in NYC? Don't miss this year's , which takes place in-person at the Emerson Paramount Center from February 27–March 1 and virtually nationwide March 2–23, 2026. Learn more here: https://www.bostonbalticfilm.org/
