Extraordinary dance teachers do more than teach steps. They shape the way dancers move through the world, cultivating curiosity, confidence, and a lasting love of the art form.

This year, the Dance Teacher Awards will honor five exceptional educators whose influence reaches far beyond the studio: Jacqulyn Buglisi, Archie Burnett, Zvi Gotheiner, Sheela Ramanath, and Lynn Simonson.

Want to join us in celebrating them? Enter our ticket giveaway for a chance to attend the 2026 Dance Teacher Awards!

The ceremony will take place Wednesday, October 14, at 11 am at The Loft at City Winery, Pier 57 in New York City.

Simply fill out the Google Form in our bio to enter for your chance to win a pair of tickets and be part of this special celebration of the teachers who inspire, mentor, and shape the dance community.

In the spirit of National Dance Day, we honor the power of movement to carry memory, give form to what words cannot hold, and bring us together.

In commemoration of the 25th anniversary of 9/11, White Requiem, choreographed by Jacqulyn Buglisi, opened this year’s Table of Silence Project 9/11 at Lincoln Center. A meditation on remembrance, loss, and our shared humanity, the work moves through breath, gesture, and the collective body, transforming remembrance into a living call for compassion and peace.

We celebrate dance as more than an art form, but as a language that connects us to one another.
