Ooh, I do love the White Peak. On the top of the hill in the distance is Minninglow… and for the history buffs amongst you it’s the olde neolithic burial chamber dating back to the Early Neolithic period around 3400 BC… which is over 5,000 years ago!!!!

Falcon Friday 🤍🦅
This pic appeared as a full page in the July 2001 issue of British GQ magazine as part of a special 12-page rock guitar feature titled “Axe Men” (“For those about to rock (we salute you)”.
It was nice to be asked alongside the likes of Ronnie Wood, Johnny Marr, Noel Gallagher, Matt Bellamy and Joe Perry. The high-end photo shoot was somewhere on the Santa Monica Boardwalk in LA.

From the BD Arkive. Interesting (and beautiful) item as a telegram seems such an ancient thing now. It was our first Japanese tour and nice classy touch from our old managers Ian Grant (and I’m guessing Alan Edwards too).
It shows how different things were back in the mid 80s... emails and texts were a thing of the future and a phone call would have been ridiculously expensive too 🤣
We flew to Japan via Anchorage, Alaska and I first experienced the Japanese passengers running to a noodle shop in the airport and enjoying a noisy old slurp fest which was a bit of an eye opener culturally but totally normal for them.

Falcon Friday 🖤🦅
Me & Kirk with his beautiful new Black Falcon acoustic guitar. A lovely gift on his 70th birthday from Gretsch that also acknowledges him playing their guitars for nearly 50 years!
They were also instrumental in me getting the gig with Theatre of Hate as when Kirk asked me what guitar I’d get if I joined the band I immediately said a Gretsch… so I was in!
Hats off to Team BD and the guys at Gretsch Guitars for sorting this out too.

How about a for a change… here’s a nice pic of me and my Ronno inspired “Woody” Les Paul taken from the crowd at the legendary 100 Club in 2008.
We were out touring “Born Into This” and had just played 3 nights at the big London venue, Kentish Town Forum, and followed it up with this intimate club show. We like to occasionally do these type of gigs, at tiny venues, as a night out for the “Cult Addicts”.
It’s also one of those rare pics of me doing my backing vocal duties on Love Removal Machine 🤣

A big happy 70th birthday to my long time friend Kirk. Here we are back in 1981 from a Theatre of Hate photo shoot by Adrian Boot.
We bonded over Gretsch guitars and English Bull Terriers amongst other things, without KB who knows how my life would have turned out.
