Had a great trip to the Metropolitan Museum yesterday with my daughter and her visiting friend. We focused on the Egyptian Wing and the American Wing. I’m always amazed by how much there is to see there, and find all the different designs, color combinations, and textures so inspiring. I really loved this still life painting Apple Blossoms by Charles Caryl Coleman. I was not familiar with this artist. You never know what you will find that you hadn’t noticed before! Can’t wait to go back!

On my easel- reworking an older painting while also starting some new ones. Starting a new painting is exciting, but sometimes it’s nice not to have to start from scratch. It’s hard to maintain the energy in these winter months! And as Leonardo da Vinci said, “Art is never finished, only abandoned.” So I’m just revisiting an abandoned piece.
