NOVEMBER curated by Leah Durner condensed version for Fall of Freedom Friday Nov. 21 and Saturday Nov. 22 2025
exhibiting artists Dove Bradshaw, Jill H. Casid, Leah Durner,
Gran Fury, Rei Kawakubo, lumtumm (Stephan Linton)

November opens up the overlapping of care, mourning, and political action. November is layered with associations – shortened daylight, late fall turning to winter, increasing layers of clothing, subdued colors, the Day of the Dead and All Souls Day, Veterans Day, the US Thanksgiving holiday, and the time of US elections. Artwork in November is primarily focused around a palette of black, white, and grey, reflecting the seriousness of the November 2024 US presidential election to human and environmental survival. These works have an element of mourning and memorial; they reference disease, war, political action, and transformation.
while pointing to transformation (Bradshaw), care (Casid), layered histories and geographies (Durner), touch (Durner), activism (Gran Fury), separation and dress (Kawakubo), children and our future (Linton.

November will also include a reading table with copies of Howard Zinn’s A People’s History of the United States: 1492 – the Present.
