Built in 1912, the building that houses HDL originally served as the Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank. It was once the largest bank building in the United States designed by Raymond F. Almirall to be a “temple of thrift” for New York’s immigrant community. Today, the limestone facade standing over City Hall remains a landmark of the downtown skyline, bridging a century of New York history with the future of immersive events.

Telling the story of equity and resilience through light, sound and emotion.

Honoring the 60th anniversary of the East Harlem Council for Human Services (Boriken Neighborhood Health Center/EHCHS), Hall des Lumières was recently transformed into the perfect backdrop for the organization's inaugural gala. The night was filled with moving stories, powerful performances, and immersive projections that transformed our historical venue into a vibrant tribute to the community’s legacy.
