it meant I finally started loving myself.

That’s the part people don’t see.

I didn’t leave because I wanted to.
I left because I had to.

Because staying started to cost me my peace.

I kept holding onto what we used to be.
While you were slowly letting go.

And that hurt more than anything.

Watching someone change…
while pretending everything is fine.

I felt it in the way you talked to me.
In the way you stopped showing up.

And I kept hoping it would go back to how it was.

But it didn’t.

Because love doesn’t fade suddenly…
it fades when it’s not being taken care of.

And I was the only one trying to keep it alive.

I chose myself.

And now I understand…

That imbalance becomes exhausting.

I listened to your reasons.
