Four Windows is a sculptural seating installation composed of intersecting frames that define a shared space for pause, reflection, and encounter. Positioned at the edge of Morningside Park, the structure creates a sequence of framed views, each opening toward a different orientation of the city and its rhythms. Light and dark surfaces articulate contrast and balance, while mirrored edges multiply perspectives, producing a shifting interplay of reflection and light.
Oriented to the four cardinal directions, the installation serves as a quiet spatial marker within the city. Each opening frames a distinct view, encouraging visitors to situate themselves in relation to their surroundings and to notice the shifting qualities of light, weather, and seasonal change over time.
Commissioned by the Columbus Amsterdam BID, Four Windows is planned to be installed in May 2026 for a one-year duration; the project will be accompanied by ongoing community engagement initiatives developed in collaboration with the PHL.
