What happens when you allow yourself to dream?

In this work, the photograph loosens from its edge and begins to breathe beyond the frame. Threads trace the contours of memory and imagination, softening the boundary between image and object, surface and space.

Hand-embroidered and sculptural details invite the viewer to linger, to step closer, to step inside, where the landscape is no longer only seen, but felt. Here, the act of looking becomes an act of dreaming.

‘Voile’: Wild Roses 🥀

A new sculptural photography series that lives at the intersection of image, textile, and form. In this body of work, photographs are printed onto silk organza and sculpted on a paper printed mirror image. Like a thin veil, the silk layer pulls away from its origin, similar to a billowing sail, stretching beyond the two dimensional plane.

Layers and folds of translucency create whispers of shadows and light. The work begins to inhabit space in a way that feels alive. ‘Voile’ is my invitation to step closer, to move around the photographs, and to see how image, like a thin skin, can separate from canvas. Voile exists as something both alive and architectural - as a quiet sculptural presence that lingers between material and imagination.

NATURA is series of ethereal and fantastical landscapes that integrate hand embroidered details as a medium of time-honored storytelling to help push the traditional boundaries of photography. Through a delicate interplay of light, color, texture, and fiber, I infuse each image with my lifelong passion for narrative, and fantasy inviting the viewer to step into a dream like world.

Sometimes the work is too big to transport, and I have to embroider the photograph on site . This is ‘Dafne’s Song’ and one of the larger pieces that I’ve created- the embroidery is intricate and takes many days to complete as does the mounting and framing. It’s a collective labor of love! And a beauty!
