Yesterday, Scantic River Productions volunteered with for the Brooklyn Experience Half Marathon! We led and organized the starting corrals in McCarren Park for almost 25000 runners from around the globe! Not only that, but bright and early at 4:30 in the morning we made friends with other race workers and volunteers. It was a caffeinated and cold day, but the Scantic Verve brought smiles and miles to New York City!

Gosh darn it, we sure made a rumpus didn’t we? 2024 has been an amazing year for Scantic River Productions, spreading our wings to reach new skies.

We released the Rocking Chair album this summer, with 28 tracks from our podcast “Rocking Chair; or Settlement”. Both streaming wherever you get your podcasts and music! 🪑 👻

With that, we released our behind the scenes documentary feature, “Back and Forth” led by our intrepid team of , , . 🎥 🎧

We also put together a cabaret at Pangea: “He’s Larsoning” for Colby’s 30th birthday. Quite a show with ! 🎸🥁🎤🎹

Hot after all this, we crafted a new musical short film “Agnes’ Key” for the Film Force Film Festival in Queens. Whatever the medium, the Merry Band of Misfits can tackle it! Directed by , DP’d by , produced by , cello by , costumes by , and starring and ! 🗝️🎬🎻

Then on to Scantic River’s second Ten Minute Play festival at Caveat! Theme this year was, of course: Birthdays! stepped in to help lead this incredible new tradition, to wonderful and hilarious results. Thank you again to all of our playwrights, directors, and actors! 🎂🎭

We put together a new musical workshop concert… stay tuned on this one folks😉🛏️🎼🗡️

Lastly, this month, we’ve successfully launched our Voice Over Reel Masterclass! It was a joy to work with the talents we’ve workshopped with already, and we’re looking forward to hearing new voices in the new year! 🎧🎤

We are so grateful for everyone’s continued and new support! This year has been a gift. Let’s see where the river flows next year, shall we?

Scantic River Productions has always been interested in film, with our first feature “A Trip to the Moon” released in 2021.

Now, at the behest of Timothy Noble and Jose Fernando Rodriguez at Film Force 11, we have returned to our cinematic roots. Film Force challenges filmmakers of all levels to create a semi annual film festival where everyone gets the same script… but with no characters or action!

Scantic River Productions took it upon themselves to put together this stunning five minute musical.
